Bankroll management
Crack this and you have cracked the game.
You might think its not that simple but the guidelines set out by the worlds best bankroll management specialist Chris "jesus" Ferguson means that as long as you follow the rules then it proves very difficult to go broke. If you do go broke and you know yourself that you have stayed within the guidelines then its time to consider whether or not you should be playing this game for an income.
Chris set the guidelines and you wouldn't believe how many pros have followed in his footsteps and listened as well as preached what this guy has had to say.
So you need to use a strict format for all your poker playing and make sure you stick to it as this will be the only way you will give yourself a chance to succeed.
The guidelines are as follows.........
-Never use more than 5% of your bank roll for Sit N Go's
-Never use more than 5% for any one particular cash game. In a cash game when your balance reaches 10% of your bankroll, you should see the blinds out and leave. -Never use more than 2% of your bankroll when playing a multi table tournament
I cant emphasise enough how important aspect of the game is. Its not about being able to afford to play the game its about controlling your self discipline and being able to give yourself the chance needed to improve. This game becomes a lot harder when you have to reload to sit back down because it then means the money is what you have had to work for and means you will never be able to play your A game at the felt
