7.5k gtd blue square
Played the 7.5k on blue square last night and played out of my skin.
My whole game seemed to be a lot more alert and with having the benefit of playing on an aggressive table i was getting to see a lot more hole cards than normal, meaning my note book was full of all sorts and I had a cracking reads on the whole table.
I played probably 5 % more flops than normal, because of a lot of fishing going on at the table it meant I was able to out play opponents more on the flop and beyond. Got to the money very cosily but then just when I had my eye on the final table this hand evolved.....
Player utg limps in and has been doing so with pocket pairs the rest of the table have been pretty tight at this stage so I have been taking control a lot pre flop so i raise it up 3x bb to 3600 .
The rest of the table folds and the guy utg calls.
My notes on this guy is that " limp calls with mid to low pocket pairs, lays his premium hands aggressively, bets and raises with draws, solid player"
This makes a total pot of 6600 and i have kj off suit. I also now have control of the hand because i know by the way the guy has been playing if he had a big pair he would of re raised me all in.
Flop comes jj10 two club. The guy checks here I know in my head if he was flushing he moves all in first, as he has done in past hands. If he had over cards he prob folds if I bet pot, so i decide to bet half the pot to look weak and hope he falls for it and tries to make a move on me. He did and flat called.
Now you could have an argument to say that this guy could be trapping me but I really couldn't believe it. The only hands that have me beat are j10, but he wouldn't of limped with that crap, 10 10 he would of raised pre flop, aj i don't recon he plays it from utg if he does he prob wouldn't of called the raise.
I still have him on a low/middle pair. The turn brings an eight.
Now this is a scare card because he might very well have pocket eights. He then moves all in.
I start to go through the thought process of what he might have and if he did have pocket 8's there is no way he is pushing with the full house.
Final decision was that he was taking the stop and go approach after all I did play the hand looking weak and if so he would expect me to fold with this action.
I called and he turned over pocket 3's he had nought. The pot was an incredible 30+k the only problem was he hit a miracle three on the river. Yes a two outer landed for him and as you can imagine I was gutted.
That left me with only a couple thousand in chips with the blinds hitting me with a couple of hands and my game was over.
Finished in the money happy enough on getting my investment back.
Question- Did I feel i played the hand wrong?
Answer- No not at all.
Reasoning- The whole idea of the game is to get your opponent to put all his chips in the middle when he needs a miracle to stay alive.
Lesson- Just be careful what you wish for.
Always remember to analise your hands over and over again and as long as your play was correct then don't make the mistake of changing it because of some sick poker god....... catch you soon skipper.
